The scale is P4, or indeed S4. S4 is the more accurate. The difference between the two is basically the back-to-back gauge between the wheels – slightly wider in S4. This means that the ‘crossing flangeway’ – that which guides the wheel through the crossing vee of a point without jumping – must be tighter. It’s all done with model gauges and is the same for any trackwork in any scale.
The layout is ‘modern image’ – right up to the present day – lots of colours and liveries! It is loosely based on Southern rails, Kent, near London. Eventually it will include 3rd rail & London Underground! – At least 20 years of work!
